1. What is K&M Rentals?

K&M Rentals is one of the largest Equipment Rental Companies in NYC. One look at our Professional Rental Department and you'll know you're in good hands. We offer Canon, Nikon, Hasselblad, Mamiya, Profoto, Apple, and many higher end photography brands. From the smallest jobs to the biggest, our knowledgeable rental staff is willing to answer all your questions and will always treat you with the respect you deserve. From the biggest professional, to the person picking up a camera for the very first time; let us help you find what you've been missing. Working on a budget? We will work with you to make sure you get the best gear, at the best price.

2. What do I need to open an account? 

In order to setup your rental account with us at K & M Camera, we will need to receive the following items from you:
1). Complete, sign, and return the attached credit card authorization form.

2). Copy of Photo ID (this can be as simple as taking a photo with a phone or scanning at your office – as long as it is in color)
3). Copy Credit Card (front and back)
4). Provide Certificate of Insurance (If available) Otherwise the total replacement cost of total items being rented will be held on the credit card you provide.

We accept government issued picture ID and Credit Card/Form of payment. 
We require that all insurance certificates be submitted 24 hours prior to your rental pickup time.

4. I'm having a problem placing an order online. What should I do?

Email or call us! Our patient and attentive producers are happy to walk you through the process.

5. I do not have insurance. Do I need insurance to rent?

If you do not have a certificate of liability insurance we will place a hold on your card for the total replacement value of what you are renting. With a credit card the hold will come off within a week of your equipment returning. With a debit card it will take 3 weeks. You may also do a cash hold. We keep the money in our safe and you get it back on day of return. If you would like to purchase your own insurance we recommend using the following Insurance Companies:

6. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards, as well as cash. We also accept checks if your account is on NET Terms.
Please email rental@kmcamera.com to inquire about applying for a net account. 
21. What are the hours of operation for your Rentals Department?
Monday-Friday: 8AM-7PM
Saturday: 10AM-6PM
Sunday: Closed
 

7. What is your tax policy? Will I be charged tax on my rental?

There is tax included on rentals. If you are tax exempt please send us your tax exempt form as soon as possible after setting up your account or placing an order. 
 

8. Do you offer package deals for long-term rentals?

Yes! A week long rental is charged as 3 billing days, two week rental is 6 billing days and three weeks up to 1 month is a total of 9 billing days. To inquire about rentals longer than 1 month duration please email us.  
We also offer a weekend special which is 1 bill day for Friday afternoon (3PM) through Monday morning (10AM).

9. Do you offer student discounts?

Yes, we offer students 15% off. You must have a valid student ID to show us when you pick up your order. If someone else is picking up for you please submit a copy beforehand.  For online orders please email us at rental@kmcamera.com to validate and apply the discount. 

10. How can I change and/or check the status of my order?

You can email or call us.

11. How do I cancel an order? 

Please cancel your order by phone or email 24 hours prior to your rental.

12. Where do I pick up my rental?

Our pickup facility is located at 4 Cortlandt Alley, New York, NY 10013.

13. Do you provide deliveries/pick-ups?

Yes we do. Our fees range based on distance, amount of equipment, size of the equipment, and whether it is during our business hours or not. Also if the location does not have an elevator and is a walk-up it will be $5 per flight per trip. For new clients we prefer for their first rental they come pick up in person.

14. I am an international customer. Do you ship overseas?

Yes, however the decision is subject to management's discretion based on the order itself or the customer order history.

15. Do you offer demonstrations of rental packages?

Yes, if we have a Tech available for the specific time you need you may request a demo for any of our equipment. Please request your demo at least 24 hours in advance.

16. I have technical questions about equipment. What should I do?

You should email us through our website under the "Contact Us" section. Please feel free to ask us whatever advice you need on a certain piece of equipment or what you should use in a particular scenario. If it is a more urgent matter you may also call our Production Department (212)-523-0954 EXT 2.

17. What is your late return policy? Can I extend rentals?

Orders are due back by 10AM on the date specified when you make your rental. If the equipment is returned any time after 12PM on that day an extra billing day will be added and you will be charged accordingly.

18. I have a question regarding charges on my account or payment status of an invoice. Who should I talk to?

You can contact our Production Department by emailing them at rental@kmcamera.com. You may also speak with one of our helpful producers by calling (212)-523-0954 EXT 2.

19. Do you have a retail location that I can visit?

Yes, our sales storefront is located on 368 Broadway, New York, NY 10013. 
 

20. Do you offer sensor cleaning services?

Yes, we offer sensor cleanings through our Digital Department. Bring in your camera so our friendly and knowledgeable Digital Techs can give you an accurate quote. For the cleaning you will need to bring your camera, battery, body cap, and charger.
